Socks

When I first started knitting, people told me socks are amazingly fun to knit, and so comfortable. I secretly snickered that they're nuts.

Well, please let me eat my words because I was bitten by the sock bug.

Here's my first pair, toe up, 2AtATime (TAAT). I find it easier to make things two at a time. I knit loosely so this is fingering weight knitted on US000 needles, 60 stitches around, Judy magic cast on toe, short roe heel.

Here's my second pair. A lovely Raveler gave this yarn to me as a gift. It's heavy fingering weight, wool socks. I couldn't get gauge with US000 (1.5mm) needles, but I got the exact same gauge with US00-000 (1mm) needles, so these are also made with US000 needles. Cuff down, TAAT, 50 stitches around, p2k2 ribbing, band heel, origami toe.

I could not possibly have completed the band heel without Criminy Jicket's wonderful band heel tutorial.

Next I think I must make my husband some spiffy ninja toe socks with Knit Picks Stroll.

    1. Wow! Sorry, I hardly ever check the comments and it's been years! I still have that pair of socks AND the left over yarn. I'm currently incorporating it into a linen stitch cowl. :D Thank you very much for RAKing that to me.
